Hector Rail and ÖBB in partnership for locomotives
Hector Rail and ÖBB Traktion have entered a partnership for introducing the well-proven ÖBB Class 1142 locomotive to the Scandinavian market. The locomotive shall be seen as an alternative to the classic Swedish Rc-locomotive and can offer some interesting characteristics to the market. For example electric brakes, a computerised bus-system, a very economic performance and a rating of 4 MW compared to 3.6 MW for the Rc locomotive.
As a first step Hector Rail has purchased three locomotives. If the market reacts positive to this type, more locomotives can be acquired for the Scandinavian market.
