MAV buys TALENT motorcars

Now it is official, MÁV will buy 10 Talent from Bombardier! All of this is because of politics. You may know, there will be elections in Hungary in April. If the current government can present the new EMU's before the elections, they will get more votes from the people....

This is the only reason. MÁV wrote a letter to the other companies when they heard about Bombardier's offer (Last week Bombardier made an offer of 10 ready-to-run, assembled, new EMU's, toghether with financing, servicing) which company can build 10 EMU's with the same conditions, and MÁV give them 5 (five) days to answer. Five days to answer how to build and finance 10 new EMU's, are there any company in the world which can give a real answer for this in that short time? I don't think so. This was the offer, and MÁV accepted it today. The official MÁV press release saying that "this is an offer we can't reject, the vehicles are ready, cheap, and there are no problems with financing them"

The main profile of the factory in Dunakeszi is passenger cars. The build new ones, renew the old ones, and they have enough work. Building new EMU's will result in expansion of the factory, with new employee's (also a good point for the current government) but this offer states that this EMU's are already assembled and ready-to-run.
